How RelevantMail Works
RelevantMail attaches advertisements into user email messages. The advertisements are non-obstructive, text-only links located in the footer or sidebar of the email message. The focus of the advertising is relevant to the topic of the message. RelevantMail's patent-pending search technology matches advertising listings based upon many attributes, including message context, subject matter, geographical location, and optional demographics.
Inbound and optionally outbound messages by the email user are processed by the RelevantMail server. Advertising listings with the highest relevancy are then embedded in the email message before being delivered to the end user. The implementation is designed to avoid end user revolt against the system by taking privacy concerns into mind and avoiding annoyance to the end user.
User privacy concerns are important and the system was build around those concerns. The entire system is automated and at no time are emails read by human eyes. Moreover, we are intentionally separate from email service providers and do not store any information on emails. In other words, our engine never receives information as to who sent or received the email message. It only receives the text of the email itself.
Email providers such as ISPs, portals and web mail providers sign up for the service and receive a percentage of the advertising revenue. Integration is a simple "configure and go" process. The RelevantMail service is hosted at multiple RelevantAds, Inc. data centers.
